I was JUST wondering what Nick Lachey is doing...
According to my extensive research*, he’s hosting The Sing-Off on NBC. Good to know.
(Not sure why I was wondering about him… my brain works too hard, obviously.)

Look what I made! I was bored, so I created one...
Commuting
Don’t forget the people who, despite a completely filled-to-capacity train, insist upon making it into the car and literally throw their bodies against the throngs of people inside and stuff themselves inside the car. They delay the entire train, make the doors unable to close for several attempts, squeeze everyone even tighter than before, and then they give YOU dirty looks because you...
Thank you, unethical Starbucks worker.
I just took an afternoon coffee break and ordered a tall beverage that cost $3.90. I was charged $1.95 and given a grande size. My friend had the same thing happen. We’ll take it.
Relaxation
Today I finally used the massage + facial gift card Christian gave me, oh, TEN MONTHS ago.
The massage was nice, but the facial? THE FACIAL WAS AMAZING. I actually fell asleep while the aesthetician was working on me it was so relaxing. And I’m so not that person that falls asleep, ever, under circumstances other than a dark silent bedroom.
End of the 00's
I saw the cover of Time Out, or NY Mag, or some other magazine along my walk to work today. It said END OF THE 00’s*. Holy shit, I thought. This decade is OVER? At first I was shocked - time has truly flown by! But then, I actually got emotional for a little bit. I mean, the past decade has held many (almost every) important milestones for me. Of course there was devastating, ridiculous,...
I may have problems?
I hoard gift cards.
I finally want to redeem the gift certificate Christian got me for VALENTINE’S DAY for a massage and facial, so I went to find it in my gift card stash.
In it, I found a few other things:
Hundreds of dollars to Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom
At least $100 in Starbucks cards, combined
$125 in Visa gift cards
Victoria’s Secret & Sephora gift cards
An...
Recipe Ideas Needed
I know you all have some fabulous recipes. Here’s the deal. Christian’s birthday is this week, right in the midst of his medical school finals (yuck, I know.) Therefore he wants to squeeze a small celebratation. Instead of a fancy birthday dinner out, he has requested me to prepare a meal for him, along with his favorite yellow cake with chocolate icing. I have the cake covered, but...
I love Manhattan customer service.
I was in Michael’s today and picked up a few things for Christmas cards, etc.
Once I got to the register, I asked if they had any 40% off coupons (typically found in a Michael’s circular) that I could use. They didn’t (shocker) so I asked where I might find a circular in the future.
“Umm… I dunno… in the street, or….*shrug*”
REALLY,...
All I have to say about this week and day: TGIF....
Oh the Irony
Yesterday I was all proud that I didn’t spend any money at Starbucks in the morning (I had office coffee) and ALSO brought my lunch. Thus, when I had arrived home, I had spent $0 for the day, which is pretty much unheard of for me.
I even bargained with the christmas tree stand man for five minutes to save a mere five dollars. (I’m a little crazy sometimes.)
Then I got on the...
